Let's Talk
Let's Talk
Since you're here, you're probably already a fan of Converge, one of the most original and innovative bands of the past two decades. If you're just discovering Converge, then welcome! You're in for a wild ride.
The Converge Skill for Alexa is for those who love Converge. Want to hear the lastest Converge news? Or find out what shows the band has coming up? Can't remember what album a specific song is on, or what songs appear on an album? Want to quickly play a Converge song without powering up an audio system?
With a device like the Amazon Echo, the Amazon Tap or the Amazon Dot, all of this becomes easy. Especially when you have Alexa to help you. All you have to do is ask. And we're talking talk — not typing, tapping, or pushing buttons.
Best of all, it's free. With Alexa, it's never been easier to keep up with Converge.
The Challenge
The Challenge
As a fan, asking Alexa to play a Converge song, or getting the lastest Converge news and concert information without touching a computer or a phone is cool, but how big of a Converge fan are you? How much Converge do you actually know?
We're talking music here. On seven Converge albums, there are over ninety tracks. Are you the ultimate fan? Do you know them all?
Alexa can challenge you using over 1,300 Converge song samples selected from across the Converge discography. After you listen to a sample, Alexa will ask you to name the song or the album. Of course Alexa will also keep score as you try to identify tracks. As you get better at naming Converge songs, not only will you earn a higher score, but eventually you'll achieve a zen state where you'll be able to effortlessly name each song that the band plays at a show. Kind of like being an unofficial member of the band.
How's it work?
Hear the Alexa Converge skill in action. Listen to a short, three track song challenge (4 minutes).
How's it work?
To get started, first you'll need an Amazon Echo, an Amazon Tap, an Amazon Dot or another device that runs Alexa. Devices with Alexa installed are incredibly versatile. They can be used to control lights, locks and appliances, instantly access news, scores and weather, and so much more. An Echo or a Tap can even be paired with a phone and used as a Bluetooth speaker.
Once you have a device that supports Alexa, the next step is to enable the free Converge skill. This can be as easy as saying "Alexa, enable Converge." You can also enable the skill using the Alexa app on a mobile device, or by visiting alexa.amazon.com in any web browser.
After you've enabled the skill, it's then just a simple matter of saying "Alexa, start Converge."
When the skill starts you can jump right into a challenge, ask for news or concert information, play a Converge song, or you can say "help" to get a run down of the skill's various features and options.

Note that it's also possible to do things like check Converge news or concerts without launching the interactive skill. For example, if you would like to quickly check concerts, instead of saying "Alexa, start Converge", just say "Alexa, ask Converge to tell me about concerts."
